FINAL PROGRAM

SECOND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON

POLYIMIDES AND OTHER HIGH

TEMPERATURE POLYMERS

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND APPLICATIONS

WITH A SPECIAL SESSION ON METALLIZED PLASTICS

To be held December 3-5, 2001 at the Robert Treat Hotel; Newark, NJ

This symposium is the second in a series the first of which was held in Newark in 1999. As with its predecessor, this symposium will be concerned with all aspects of polyimides and other high temperature polymers. These materials have found applications in such diverse areas as the aerospace industry and microelectronic components. A unique combination of physical and chemical properties makes these materials highly attractive for demanding applications where chemical inertness, high temperature stability, low dielectric constant, mechanical toughness and processability are primary concerns. This symposium is organized to bring together scientists, technologists and engineers interested in all aspects of high temperature polymers, to review and assess the current state of knowledge, to provide a forum for exchange and cross-fertilization of ideas and to define problem areas which need intensified efforts.

In light of heavy travel restrictions being imposed by many companies, as a result of the horrific events in New York City on September 11, a number of participants have been forced to change their plans. As a consequence this symposium is being integrated with the EIGHTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON METALLIZED PLASTICS which will form a special one day session of the overall program. These symposia share many topics and many participants in the former should have significant interest in the latter. Those registering for the polyimide symposium are thus invited to participate in the session on metallized plastics at no extra cost. Those interested in only the session on metallized plastics will be required to pay only 1/3 the normal registration. Full details are given in the attached registration form. Please note that the address given is for the primary author and may not apply to all coauthors.
