Dr. Mittal is an internationally renowned authority on these topics and has edited two seminal proceedings volumes which document the first two symposia. The first entitled "Acid-Base Interactions: Relevance to Adhesion Science and Technology" documented the first international symposium on this subject held at Lehigh University, June 18-20, 1990 in honor of Professor F. M. Fowkes who was a pioneer in applying acid-base concepts to problems in coatings and composite technology.
The second volume entitled "Silanes and Other Coupling Agents" covered the proceedings of the first international conference on this subject which was held in April 1991 in honor of Dr. Edwin P. Plueddemann a Dow scientist who pioneered the development and application of silanes for industrial applications. C4 is honored to join with Dr. Mittal in hosting the second international conference on these topics which will cover the most recent developments and advances in these key fields which are so critical to the understanding and development of advanced coating technologies.
Both symposia will be held back to back during the week of October 19, 1998. Those interested will be able to stay abreast of the conference details by visiting these web pages for information on the conference schedule, abstracts, attendee list, hotel accommodations and more. In addition a short course on Applied Adhesion Measurement Methods is planned directly after the meeting on Silane Coupling Agents.
