CALL FOR PAPERS
INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADHESIVES: SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND APPLICATIONS
DECEMBER 4-6, 2000
ROBERT TREAT HOTEL ; NEWARK, NJ
The earliest adhesives were resinous materials derived from plants and animals and found most of their applications in bonding paper and wood where only a temporary bond was required or where high strength was not needed. Modern day adhesives however have become indispensable for high performance applications such as military aircraft where durability and light weight are primary concerns. In another vein, adhesives for bio-medical applications are one of the most demanding uses of adhesive technology and also one of the most promising for treating bone fractures and other wounds. In addition to these high tech applications, adhesives remain as a bulwark of our modern economy where they are used in everything from cereal boxes to composite materials for the construction industry. The purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum for discussion of various ramifications of the myriad adhesive formulations now available. Particular focus will be on the dissemination of the latest information available and the cross-pollination of ideas. The technical program will contain both invited overviews and contributed original research papers, and it is planned to chronicle the proceedings properly in a hard-bound volume.
TOPICS OF INTEREST INCLUDE:
PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
CHARACTERIZATION AND TESTING
This symposium is being organized by MST Conferences, LLC under the direction of Dr. K. L. Mittal, Editor, Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology. A proceedings volume is planned for this symposium and further details will be provided in due course. Please notify the conference chairman of your intentions to present a paper as early as possible. An abstract of about 200 words should be sent by June 1, 2000 to the conference chairman by any of the following methods:
