CALL FOR PAPERS

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON INTERFACES IN POLYMER COMPOSITES

To be held November 30 - December 1, 2000 at the Robert Treat Hotel; Newark, NJ

Composites are more and more becoming the materials of choice for a wide range of applications in the modern economy. Everything from sporting equipment to high performance aircraft are being fabricated from composites since only these materials can meet all the desired performance requirements. However, it is well known that the performance of any given composite is critically dependent on the adhesion of the matrix to the reinforcing filler(particle, fabric or fiber). The preparation and characterization of the matrix/filler interface is one of the most challenging and critical tasks in the fabrication of any composite material. The purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum for discussion of various ramifications of the myriad composite materials currently available and the understanding of the matrix/filler interfaces which make these structures possible. Particular focus will be on the dissemination of latest information available and the cross-pollination of ideas. The technical program will contain both invited overviews and contributed original research papers, and it is planned to chronicle the proceedings properly in a hard-bound volume

Among the topics to be covered are:

This symposium is being organized by MST Conferences, LLC under the direction of Dr. K. L. Mittal, Editor, Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology. A proceedings volume is planned for this symposium and further details will be provided in due course. Please notify the conference chairman of your intentions to present a paper as early as possible. An abstract of about 200 words should be sent by June 1, 2000 to the conference chairman by any of the following methods:
